Some examples of work by others, and useful links
Info re. making Comp Phys videos (2001) Since 12/01 I have used a digital SONY camera (DCR PC10), transferring files via firewire to a 70GB external drive (7200RPM, firewire) connected to my SONY VAIO laptop (700Mhz P3, 360MB RAM). Videos are edited using Adobe Premier and compressed using Cleaner5 (www.discreet.com). Converting an hour of edited video to an AVI file takes about 8 hrs; compressing this to Broadband Surestream (.rm) takes about 10 hrs. Additional sound tracks were recorded using a Minidisc digital recorder with stereo microphones that fit in my ears; audio files are then redigitized onto my laptop and edited using CoolEditPro, before importing them into Premier for merging. Minidisc recording and transfer equipment was purchased through minidisco.com
