Former University of South Carolina REU student wins ASPB SURF

Ashley Hipps, an REU student in Beth Krizek's lab in the summer of 2006 was awarded a $3,000 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) from ASPB that will allow her to do research on "Determining the molecular mechanisms of temperature modulation of defense responses in Arabidopsis thaliana through int mutants" in Jian Hua's lab at Cornell University in the summer of 2007.
