Winter is long gone and we're now in the midst of a long dry summer (fourth year of drought in SC)...

Here's a Carolina anole on our back stoop railing...

Flowers along the drive are in bloom...

More flowers, but not to last. Look at them here, because the drought has decreased the forage in the woods so much, the deer are eating all our plants (yes, our vegetable garden is kaput!)

Speaking of which, here's one within 30 feet of the house brazenly munching on crabapples...

Jennifer is now the master shephard, her first lamb was born this season... (of course, she knew it just after it was born-- struggling and wobbling its way out of the woods. Joe got an excited call at work, "We've got A LAMB! WE'VE GOT A LAMB!!")

Of course, Joe's work on the house struggles on. After reframing the attic, Joe got most of the dry wall up (with Jim Grady's help-- thanks, Jim!!) in what Jenny calls the "music" room...

Attached to it is a small 3/4 bath...

This entails a new shower with the bath for visiting guests...

Which entailed a new water supply run up to the bathroom through the first floor study wall...
