How to Access Biology web Space?


Windows 2000/XP users only


Note: Due to changes with the network, connecting to "\\www\xxxxxxxxx" may not work. Instead, please use "\\129.252.89.33\xxxxxxxxx"


1. Right Click on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop, then click on “Map Network Drive….”

  1. Modify the “Drive:" letter if necessary, if not just note the "Drive:"  letter**

  2. In “Folder:” type “\\www\xxxxxxxxx”, where xxxxxxxxx the username you use to logon to biology email/IMAP

  3. If you are not planning to connect again automatically,  remove the check mark in Reconnect at logon
  4. Click Finish

Type your biology email username & password. Click on OK

[Remove the check mark next to "Remember my password" if you are using a public computer]


** If you are using a public computer, you need to make note of the drive letter so that you can use it to disconnect the drive when you are done.


To Disconnect:  Right click on “My Computer” on the desktop. Next, Click on "Disconnect Network Drive" and select the connection you want to disconnect and click "Ok".
