How to do Windows Updates?
Few things to check before you start!
1. This is a help page for Microsoft Windows users only, NOT FOR Mac Users.
2. If you are using Windows NT, 2000 or XP machines you need administrator privileges to do updates.
To begin doing updates,
1. Click on "Start" in your computer [looks like the picture below]

2. Go to "Programs" and then to "Internet Explorer" [looks like the picture below]

3. In the Internet Explorer window go to "Tools" --> click on "Windows Update" [looks like the picture below]

4. Click on "Scan for Updates" in the webpage [looks like the picture below]

5. Webpage will change progressively from 0% to 100% and then Click on "Review and install updates" [looks like the picture below]
Note:- Clicking on "Review and Install Updates" will install only the "Critical Updates and Service Packs"

Note:- If there are NO "Critical Updates and Service Packs" go to step 8
6. Click on "Install now" button [looks like the picture below]

7. You may have to restart your computer after the installation is completed. Without restarting your computer most updates will not work.
8. After restarting computer go thru steps 1 to 5 and make sure there are NO "Critical Updates and Service Packs" [looks like the picture below]. You have successfully updated your windows operating system!
