Our lab is interested in study the regulation of Cytoplasmic dynein, which is a fundamental motor protein vital for many cellular functions including intracellular transport, mitosis and cell migration. I am particularly interested in study the role of signaling pathways and post-translational modifications in regulation of dynein-dependent retrograde intracellular transport (or axonal transport in neuron). We study the dynein at multidimensional levels by using tools of proteomics, Immunoassay and imaging. We study the retrograde transport in both mammalian cell lines and primary DRG culture from rat or mouse by live cell imaging .   I am currently working on two projects:

1. Glycogen synthase kinase 3(GSK3) and adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) coordinately regulate dynein dependent retrograde transport

2. Mapping GSK3b phosphorylation sites in dynein intermediate chains
