ALL STUDENTS:
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:
Note to International Students: All International Students (from non-English speaking countries) who will be supported on TAs (GIAs) must participate in a 2 day workshop / examination that meets Monday August 13 and Friday August 17. Mondays meeting involves a series of presentations covering issues including safety, teaching methods and interacting with students. Fridays meeting involves two exams, one written and in which the graduate student prepares and presents a brief lesson plan (microlesson). This experience and passing the exams is absolutely required for you to be allowed to serve (and be paid) as a Teaching Assistant. If you do NOT pass the exam, you should (must) take a course during the fall (ENFS 075: Oral English for Foreign Teaching Assistants); the final exam of this course certifies the students to serve as GIAs.
